ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand and acknowledge that equine activities involve inherent risks of injury or death to participants, regardless of the safety measures taken. Under the Michigan Equine Activity Liability Act (MCL 691.1661 et seq.), an equine activity sponsor, equine professional, or any other person is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from an inherent risk of the equine activity.

INHERENT RISKS

Inherent risks of equine activities include, but are not limited to:

• The propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm, or death to persons on or around them
• The unpredictability of an equine's reaction to sounds, sudden movement, unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals
• Hazards such as surface and subsurface conditions
• Collisions with other equines or objects
• The potential of a participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others

RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS

In consideration of being permitted to participate in equine activities at Lone Tree Stables, LLC, including but not limited to riding, handling, grooming, feeding, loading, unloading, trailering, and any other activity involving equines, I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to hold harmless and indemnify Lone Tree Stables, LLC, its owners, managers, employees, agents, contractors, officers, and volunteers (collectively "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, and legal liability, whether the same be known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, due to Released Parties' ordinary negligence.

MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION

In the event of an emergency, I authorize Lone Tree Stables, LLC to obtain emergency medical treatment for myself or my minor child. I understand I am responsible for all medical expenses incurred.

PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE

I grant Lone Tree Stables, LLC permission to use photographs and/or video taken during my participation in equine activities for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, website, and print materials.

MICHIGAN EQUINE ACTIVITY LIABILITY ACT NOTICE

WARNING: Under the Michigan Equine Activity Liability Act, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from an inherent risk of the equine activity.

This agreement shall be binding upon the undersigned, their heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, and assigns. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
